The room with the most fun in the house is undoubtedly the game room. If you have it set up the way you want it that is. The essential game room is different for many. Depending on what you need, it can be inexpensive to extremely pricey. So, let’s get to it.
The Game Console
Everybody has their favorite here. Unless of course, you have never owned one before.
The newest generation of consoles boast some impressive graphical capabilities. The Playstation 4 being factually more powerful by a small margin over the Xbox One. Tailing in the new era of gaming systems is the Nintendo Wii U. It is far less graphically capable and has a much smaller library of third party support. Great for kids though. With any of these you will need an HD television to really wow your friends.
For the more extravagant type of recreation, there is the pool table. Nothing really shouts game room like having one of these. It can really be a great time with friends and gets you off of the couch to boot. On that same note, a foosball table can be a blast as well. This one is also great for the kids and make very good reflex exercises in a tight match. Of course having either one of these demands the space for it. They can’t be in every home, but we love them when they are.
Ping Pong Table
This one takes up a bit of room to pull off as well. When you have a good match going it is great fun though. Most any of these can be set up comfortably in an area of
28ft x 13ft (8.5m x 4m) for the best area of play. This can be an absolute blast to play and offers great cardio benefits as well. Again, if you have children, this is great fun for them too. Just be mindful of the small ping pong balls around very little ones.
Many would argue that the ultimate game room is not complete without a dart board.
Especially if you have a home bar. This is one of the more iconic things to have in your game room essentials. The dart board has been around for centuries and is still a good time. This day and age has many variations on the boards, from basic cork to electric ones that keep score for you. You will need about 8ft of room for a challenging game of darts with your pals.
There are many ideas for the perfect game room. These are a few staples that should be included in yours if you have the room and the means. The game room is a cherished place in the home and we want to keep it that way. Adding any of these to the mix will only help the fun factor.
